Rajani, by Brescia Bercane – Jiggy

It’s only 450 pieces, I thought, how hard could it be? and it’s pretty!

omg this was literally one piece at a time, looking for exceedingly tiny dots … I shape-sorted at about halfway done. The individual palm trees are actually copy/pastes of one drawing, with different sizes. So certain lines could be sought for particular places. But honestly, besides the elephants & four vases, all the lines of the palm trees, and the little stars, were the bright pops in the main body of the puzzle, which was lots and lots of black / dark navy / dark green …. so hard ….

But, I finished!

Brescia Bercane, artist; “Rajani“, 450 piece puzzle by Jiggy.

posting my reddit review which is a bit more detailed:

Oh boy, this was much harder than I had counted on. Jiggy was having a sale and I was excited to try them, and I easily picked out three puzzles, and then added this fourth, for the free shipping, and I do like elephants and India-related themes ….

but man it was hard. Once the elephants, and the four vases came together, everything else was a slog. There were a dozen or so solid black pieces. There were scores and scores of pieces with a combination of green/blue/teal lines (the palm trees) and dots (stars and decor along the palm trees). I started shape-sorting about halfway through and was painstakingly doing this a piece at a time, and I had rarely ever felt so “a piece at a time” before.

The artist is apparently a textile designer, which explains why the various elements combine unique and repeating elements — the palm trees for instance are cut-and-pastes, with different sizings, and different positions relative to the other elements. Same with the white flowers. That made it more challenging in some ways, but ultimately helped because I was able to, for instance, identify that there was a thin thready line on the bottom left of the palm fronds ….

However, as satisfying as it was to finish, this one will go on my “share with the world” pile.
