Awa Tsireh “Animal Designs”

Fun, easy, quick to do. Ash and I did it.

Awa Tsireh, 1898-1955. His unpublished works should enter the public domain, soon!

And here it is at the Smithsonian! “Awa Tsireh, Animal Designs, ca. 1917-1920, watercolor on paper, sheet: 20 x 26 18 in. (50.9 x 66.2 cm), Smithsonian American Art Museum, Corbin-Henderson Collection, gift of Alice H. Rossin, 1979.144.35″

Artifact Puzzles: 6.75″ x 8.75″ “This is a 105-piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of Awa Tsireh’s Animal Designs. Awa Tsireh was a Pueblo painter and his representations of animals here are referenced by the whimsies designed by Jef Bambas. The rest of the puzzle design uses mini-hex pieces. This is a really hard puzzle due to the limited color palette and mini-hex whimsies. Our Ecru Puzzles line is characterized by a closer cut and a matte finish to reduce glare. Like all our puzzles, made of 1/4″ thick laser-cut wood and made in the USA.”
