Inflating Balloon by Benh Lieu Song, Snowflake

Fabulous image by photographer Benh Lieu Song (mediawiki user:Benh, flickr blieusong — it’s capped Benh LIEU SONG; is that the preferred captioning? or just a way to tell people LIEU SONG is the surname?) captioned on Wikipedia as “A hot air balloon being inflated before air trip over Cappadocia, central Turkey, as seen from inside“, from 2010. This photo was a finalist the 2011 Wikimedia Picture of the Year — which makes me really want to know what was the winner, because this photo is STUNNING. The image is CC-licensed (not public domain, as the puzzle box mistakenly states), CC-BY-SA.

It was apparently modified slightly for the puzzle printing, which was Snowflake, from Washington. The puzzle was cut in 2021, and in about 500 “traditional” interlocking style puzzle pieces, with one whimsy-style signature piece. Nicely cut, on relatively thin wood. Really enjoyed getting to do this puzzle, courtesy of Hoefnagel.
