Fall Bloom by Chris Huang, from Liberty Puzzles. A relatively quick and easy solve. I liked the variety of patterns in the art, and the Liberty-style whimsies, both single-piece and multi-piece. I really liked how all the arachnid whimsies were in the soil ….
On the art … are all these trees with their roots connecting to a heart, referencing research about trees (and underground fungi) creating networked communities? And, what are the four red medallions supposed to represent? And, what is the double red symbol in the bottom right? Sort of a signature sigil?
And, the barren tree — is that a deciduous tree that has lost its leaves? (because that’s more of a winter thing than a “fall” thing) or is it one of the dying pines …? a comment on the current climate-change related ecological traumas, or maybe ust a representation that, yes, trees die, it’s part of the cycle …. this particular tree’s root is thin, but not more so than other trees’ roots ….)
