Japanese Woodblocks

Another Cavallini 1000-piece. These Cavallinis are a pleasure to do, with clear blocks of different pictures, collaged together. This particular collage is really beautiful and well-balanced, as is appropriate for its subject matter. (-: It had reasonable challenges in terms of similar sets of colors that were slightly different from each other in ways that required attention. Did it over a couple of days in the evenings …. Relaxing.

Minor crab: There’s a little blurb about Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) in the bottom right-hand corner, but it’s not clear whether all these woodblocks were his, or were part of the flowering he kicked off. Or, if this was an original Hasui collage!

Quality note: Quite a few pieces were still attached in the new packaging. In detaching them, one tab’s cover detached from its piece … marring the overall puzzle.
