In a major renovation in 1968, two additional bedrooms and a wide hallway were added on the northeast part of the house, as well as a second bathroom, laundry room, and adjoining hallway. The existing master bedroom was also remodeled slightly, to turn it into a third similar bedroom. All three of these bedrooms were kid’s bedrooms, and the hallway was set up with desks for study. The bedrooms also had built in desks.
2012 – On moving in, we pulled out the old carpeting and plywood flooring, and installed real wood flooring (FSC-certified) from Summerlin Flooring in Amherst. Also pulled out the plywood-based desks in the alcoves, which were not in good condition. Painted & installed new sheetrock on walls, which had been wood paneling, also not in great shape. Doorway between middle bedroom and corner original building eliminated, to be replaced later.
2021 – Pulled out fluorescent light tubes from hallway & replaced with LED lighting. Also replaced closet fluorescent light fixtures.
Corner bedroom, originally Paula Rauch’s — This is the nook where the built-in desk used to be.
