- 2018/02/14 – ”’OIL TANK”’ – oil tank replaced. $2800 / Surner. There was an oil smell by the side of the house from leaking pipe. Added under-concrete line to furnace from oil tank.
- 2018/04/16 – ”’ROOF”’ – chimney leaking on the OTHER side of the chimney into the coat closet … Young Roofing came out Tuesday 4/17 – $239.61 for
** repaired loose termination bar & failed patches … 2 techs for 1 hour each - 2018 July – ”’ELECTRICAL”’ – Fluorescent tube ballast in kitchen melted, caused kitchen ceiling to be almost 170; M called fire department which removed the fluorescent tube.
- 2018 July – Slow drain in back bathroom. Michele talked to plumber / rooter guy.
- 2018 July – M replaced shower head in back bathroom.
- 2018/08/03 fri – ”'[[bats|BATS]]”’.
** 8/3 fri – Bat in the living room in the evening; roosting on the concrete chimney wall around midnight. I took it out.
** 8/5 sun – Bat in the living room again, after midnight. Left doors open, got it out.
** 8/6 mon – Bat or bats in the living room, hallway. Would not leave. Eventually I captured it while it roosted and took it out.
** 8/7 tue – “Forest Edge Wildlife Control” came by, couldn’t see where the bats were coming & going.
** 8/10 fri – roofers couldn’t identify where bats were coming & going
** 8/14 tue – wildlife control #2 came by, couldn’t identify where bats were coming & going
** 8/20 fri – wildlife control #3 (Rocky) scheduled to look for bats
** MAY – scheduled to come back out … - 8/8 – heard back from AGE Electric, scheduling for mon 8/20; rescheduling for Nov 2018 — [[electrical at 101 Red Gate Lane]]
- 8/8 – scheduling young roofers to come out and give me an estimate to re-do the roof; will make full estimate late August
- 8/8 wed – major rainstorm at 530pm; at 10:15 pm the sump pump in the main basement had an alarm for 5″
- 8/13 mon – sump pump maintained [Leader Basement Systems] – [[basement at 101]]
- scheduling tree work with LYNDON TREE – estimated $4500
- 8/15 wed – LQ replaced shower curtain in pink bathroom (the previous shower curtain was really just a swath of fabric) — new shower curtain is blue mermaid
- 8/20 mon – Michele covered up woodchuck holes (two) and also saw a small black snake. Rocky from Wildlife Control came by … thought he had been here some years before for flying squirrels.

- 8/20 m – dead mouse in ada’s room; M filled in groundhog holes; M saw black snake (during day); M heard hissing & thumping in carport at night.
** steady dripping in crawl space - washing machine repair — it was leaking
- Mass Save — another energy audit. Recommendations. American Installations supervisor then came by & approved adding vapor barrier to crawl space under bedroom wing, and improving vapor barrier under sunroom, and adding air sealing / insulation around the base of the house.
- 9/7 fri — ”’TREES”’ – [[tree work 2018/09/07]] – Lyndon Tree. Pruning rhododendrons, taking off dead branches, chopping fallen dead trees … grinding two stumps in main front yard, chipping the debris pile … arboreal cord on japanese maple … treating hemlocks & spruces
- late sept / early oct — chimney flashing letting leaking in, both sides, again
- 10/12 fri – Complete Pest Control came. Refilled termite stations, mouse stations, & did injections for any bee holes around the perimeter of the house / soffits. Said there was a dead animal smell in some soffits. – [[Complete Pest Control 2018/10/12]]
- 10/15 – ”’ENERGY”’ – American Installations coming to do vapor barrier work, sealing exterior joists in basement, doing an air blower test … said our house is leaky, 4000 … it was 6000 with the laundry window open. Will & Jose & … another guy who is in charge.
** Crawl space under sunroom — they are pulling out existing foam board which is on walls, to put in the vapor barrier … will assess after to see if it should be replaced. They are putting foam into the joists, but feel like the vapor barrier is more useful than the foam core on the walls themselves. … Solution: Take off foam core at the top part of the wall, to “mastick” the vapor barrier material to that portion, but leave foam core on the bottom part of the wall …
** Foam around walls — In some places there are sister joists — a joist right behind another one — and they can’t put the foam behind there. So they are taking that wall off the quote.
