Bewilderness (and at Etsy), 160 wooden pieces, tesselations. “Winter Boughs” by Laura McElfresh.
Okay, wow, this was hard. A good third or half the pieces were all the exact same shape. There was one very large whimsy (pine-cone cut-outs) and a number of smaller whimsies (also pine-cones) and then a bunch of other pieces with pine-needle-like spikes, and fits to the knobby tesselated pieces. And an irregular edge. We sorted into the piece shapes, and then Ash started matching pieces to the large pine cones. Then I sorted the piece shape piles into color groupings. We matched the other pine cone whimsies to pieces that bordered those, and then started assembling groups of pieces into a larger chunks, and then began filling out the visual pine cones, and then the spaces in between …. Three hours solid puzzling with both of us. Well done, Bewilderness! Beautiful art, Laura McElfresh!
