Autumn Tea Time, Meredith Dillman, Mosaic

Mosaic, “Autumn Tea Time“, art by Meredith Dillman, 500 piece.

First, I loved the art by Meredith Dillman. Tea! Kitsune! Like Disney’s animated Maid Marian in a kimono. So I enjoyed spending time with this image.

A few little criticisms of the puzzle itself, though. The print, directly onto wood, sadly had already begun to chip or flake off along the edges of a few pieces. I liked the cut — sort of dreamy curlicues like the curling steam. It was a loose-ish cut. Many of the whimsies were thoughtful & well done, but some were sort of random — why the alligator? — and I feel I would rather have whimsies that all “fit” rather than cramming in unrelated whimsies just because there’s space and they’re cute.

Also, could my cat Zeniba be any more adorable here?

Well, maybe I’m just in a critical, crabby mood because of the politics.
