I’ve been keen on libraries since my mama took me on the regular when I was little, and my grandmama took me when I visited her, and I begged them to buy me bookshelves so that I could organize my growing collection of books, and I spent my after-school hours in the public library digging into microforms & the adult section, & then volunteering in the children’s section, & then in high school when I cut class to go to the school library … and then when I, inevitably, went to library school & became a librarian … and then when I felt like law was affecting the mission & I became a lawyer to work on access to information (as affected by IP, censorship, telecomm law, etc.).
