The bathroom we call the “pink bathroom” is the original bathroom, the only bathroom at that point. At that point, it had an exterior clerestory window. The high bathroom sink has a child-friendly bottom drawer addition, with a platform that a child can stand on to reach the sink. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we moved in, that original clerestory window was an interior window, looking into the “back bathroom” (built in the 1960s), but the glass was broken, and window shades were permanently closed. We replaced the glass with a frosted glass to let light through but preserve privacy, and removed the shades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next couple of years, we took up the old decrepit PVC flooring & removed the wallpaper, added linoleum (marmoleum brand) — ecofriendly & durable! — from the local Summerlin Flooring company, and painted the woodwork & walls. (Local artist Daneen Wilkerson did the painting for us in 2014.) Given the pink countertop, and quite a bit of brown from woodwork, we went with a sort of neapolitan ice cream color scheme — brown (chocolate), green (mint chocolate chip!), pink (strawberry). Okay, no vanilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
