what could be wrong with promising to kill queers?
jimmy swaggart boasts manfully that he would kill a queer who looked at him cross-eyed:
I’ve never seen a man in my life I wanted to marry. [Swaggart laughs; audience laughs and applauds.] And I’m gonna be blunt and plain: if one ever looks at me like that, I’m gonna kill him and tell God he died.” [Audience applauds and laughs.]
(on his Sept. 12, 2004 TV show; excerpted at glaad.org)
i guess anyone manly enough to pay for sex is manly enough to kill a queer for christ.
ten days later, jimmy doesn’t exactly feel bad, but certainly doesn’t think anybody should get their panties in a knot just cause he was havin’ a little fun:
On Wednesday, Swaggart said he has jokingly used the expression “killing someone and telling God he died” thousands of times, about all sorts of people. He said the expression is figurative and not meant to harm.
“It’s a humorous statement that doesn’t mean anything. You can’t lie to God — it’s ridiculous,” Swaggart told The Associated Press. “If it’s an insult, I certainly didn’t think it was, but if they are offended, then I certainly offer an apology.”
queers are just too damn sensitive, i guess. what is wrong with us?

I am not super religious or a super homophobic, but isn’t nice when a normal majority American is willing to say something honest in public for once instead of saying it in hiding like 99% of Americans do including homosexuals? Normal people honestly are just bored with the homosexuals who flaunt it in public, therefore invading the lives of normal children and humans in general. Give it up you queers and act like normal people and do it behind closed doors and quit prissing around like you dare someone to say someing and then you will be accepted as mainstream. If you flaunt it, you might BE killed and none of us want an innocent human to die, so stop doing it! Normal homosexuals please coach your demonstrative friends to stop being radical queers in public!
… hmm. yikes.
What is a ‘A Good Person”‘s message? That homosexuals will not be killed so long as noone knows that they’re homosexual? It seems that his basic view is that homosexuality is wrong. What does he mean by ‘flaunting it’? Would that mean that if two men were holding hands in public that they might be liable to be killed? That if a man flirted with another man in public then he might be inciting his own murder? Heterosexuals are flaunting their sexuality all the time through macho behaviours, flirting, public shows of affection, of partnership and of outward heterosexuality with members of the opposite sex. Why don’t you just come out with it and say that homosexuality is wrong and then tell us why it is? Then we can discuss what you’re really talking about. Homosexuality is not wrong – what actually is wrong about it? Tell us why YOU think it is wrong and then a discussion can start, but don’t cloak your own prejudice behind a distaste for the ways in which people different to you choose to express themselves and who they are. And while you’re at it – define the term normal. I’d like to hear.
I think, probably, we can all guess what “A Good Person” defines as normal … blech. Isn’t it interesting how AGP self-defines as “a good person”? I suppose one would have to, if it’s not apparent from the content.
